Edited by and with an introduction by Dredd veteran Michael Carroll, Judge Fear’s Big Day Out and Other Stories gathers the very best short stories from more than a decade of the Judge Dredd Megazine, including stories by legends Alan Grant, Gordon Rennie and Simon Spurrier, among countless others…

About The Authors

Simon "Si" Spurrier writes novels and comics. His work in the latter field stretches from award winning creator-owned books such as Numbercruncher, Six-Gun Gorilla and The Spire to projects in the U.S. mainstream like Hellblazer, The Dreaming, and X-Men. It all began with a series of twist-in-the-tail stories for the UK's beloved 2000AD, which ignited an enduring love for genre fiction. His latest book, Coda, is being published by Boom! Studios at present. His prose works range from the beatnik neurosis-noir of Contract to the occult whodunnit A Serpent Uncoiled via various franchise and genre-transgressing titles. In 2016 he took a foray into experimental fiction with the e-novella Unusual Concentrations: a tale of coffee, crime and overhead conversations. He lives in Margate, regards sushi as part of the plotting process, and has the fluffiest of cats.

With over 300 2000 AD stories to his name – not to mention over 250 Daily Star Judge Dredd strips – Alan Grant’s prolific creative record speaks for itself. Outside the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, Grant is well-known to Batman fans following a lengthy run on various incarnations of the title. More recently he has adapted Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novels Kidnapped and Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde in Graphic Novel format with artist Cam Kennedy.

Gordon Rennie is one of 2000 AD's most prolific creators, with co-creative credits for Caballistics, Inc., Missionary Man, Necronauts, Storming Heaven, Rain Dogs and Witchworld. Rennie has written for Heavy Metal and Warhammer, as well as Species, Starship Troopers and White Trash.

Author and comic book writer Cavan Scott is a UK number one bestseller who has written for such popular worlds as Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Vikings, Warhammer 40,000 and Sherlock Holmes. He is the author of Star Wars Dooku: Jedi Lost, Judge Dredd: Alternative Facts, The Patchwork Devil, and Cry of the Innocents, and is part of Lucasfilm’s Project Luminous publishing initiative. He has written comics for IDW, Dark Horse, Vertigo, Titan, Legendary, 2000AD, and the Beano.

Animation producer/writer currently wrangling sentient seaweed and TARDISes. Ex-Kirrin/Dark/carpet flyer. Scared of cows and spiders. Allergic to onion.

Jonathan Green is well known for his contributions to the Fighting Fantasy range of adventure gamebooks as well as his novels set in the world of Warhammer. He is the creator of the world of Pax Britannia and has written many titles for Abaddon Books.

Karl Stock has written Tharg's Future Shocks for 2000AD, Dredd prose fiction for the Judge Dredd Megazine and strips including Sniper Elite and Death Wish for Rebellion titles such as Battle, The Vigilant and Cor! & Buster, as well as interviews and features about comics for the Judge Dredd Megazine, Tripwire, Comic Heroes and more. He is the co-author of the 40th anniversary edition of Thrill-Power Overload, 2000AD's official history, and lives in Scotland.

David Baillie is a Scottish writer and artist who works in comics, film and television. As well as various strips for 2000 AD and the Megazine, he also created and wrote the series Red Thorn for Vertigo/DC. He lives in London with his darling wife, mischievous daughter and a multitude of unforgiving deadlines.
