About The Author

Siski Kalla (1972) is a children’s book author-illustrator from the UK. Born into a storytelling family with Nordic, German, and English roots, she has always loved imagining characters, settings, and stories. For the past 15 years, she has worked as an illustrator. Being diagnosed with autism later in life, Siski longed to write stories to help people of all ages navigate neurodiversity. Although she has illustrated other titles, Gertie is Not All Dogs is the first book Siski has both written and illustrated, making it her author-illustrator debut.
