Granny has always dreamed of playing hockey. As a child, she could only watch the boys play on the lake until her mom called her home to do more chores. Now, her granddaughter wheels her to the park, where Granny watches the kids play at the rink. One day, the doctor says Granny should take it easy, but she disagrees. So does her granddaughter. She knows that what Granny needs to perk her up is a chance to take a shot on net. With the help of the boys and girls on the ice, Granny finally fulfills her dream.

Lori Weber

Lori Weber is the author of seven young adult novels, including Yellow Mini and Picture Me. My Granny Loves Hockey is her first picture book. Lori teaches English and Creative Writing at John Abbott College in Sainte-Anne-de- Bellevue, Québec. She lives in Pointe-Claire, Québec, with her husband, daughter, and two cats. In the winter, she watches lots of hockey.

Eliska Liska is a world-traveling freelance artist currently based in Victoria, BC. She has a master’s degree in Contemporary Art and New Media from Ostrava University, Czech Republic. Her previous books include Suzie’s Sourdough Circus (Harbour Publishing) and O’Shae the Octopus (Simply Read Books).
