Gary R. Edgerton is a distinguished media historian, critic, and academic. In his over forty-five years as a university professor, he was recognized for his excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service and has authored or edited twelve previous books and published more than one hundred book chapters, journal articles, and encyclopedia entries. He served as co-executive editor of the Journal of Popular Film and Television from 1998 to 2024.
