Janet Stiles Tyson is an independent researcher, writer and lecturer in histories of visual and material culture. A native of America, she holds Masters degrees in Art History and Studio Art. She spends some of her time in England, but lives in Michigan with her family for the greater part of each year. Her current research focus is on eighteenth-century botanical art.
