About The Book

A disaster-prone young wizard sets out to undo her biggest magical oops and ends up on a chaotic quest with a grumpy frog mentor, an orc knight-in-training, a skeleton chef, living flames, a dragon with a cold, and way too many giant spiders.

An easily-distracted young wizard named Hokis is on a magical quest across a fanciful world full of adventure, hijinks and laughs! Hokis is on the road with her frog companion Pokis and will need all the help she can get to find the powerful arcane relic known as the “Yundu!” She’ll need to brave the spooky road through Spiderweave Glade, the icy storms of Sunblister Valley, and the questionable cuisine of Grimlawn. Along the way she’ll encounter talking spiders, talking skeletons, taking flames, and a very well-meaning but chatty ogre named Ugh.

Hokis may command powerful magic, but the elements don’t bow to just anyone (and especially not bratty novice wizards)! Hokis will have to grow and learn a lot in her journey, not just about magic, but about herself and what it means to be a good friend. Lucky for her she’ll be meeting all sorts of great teachers along the way!

Come along for a whimsical romp full of magic, mystery and monsters as we all say: “Hokis, Focus!
