About The Book

How to make more informed financial decisions by better understanding economics.

Increasing inflation, rising interest rates, energy crises due to global conflict – there’s so much economic news in the 24-hour news cycle and ubiquitous social media. So, what’s really going on, and why is it making us feel so poor?

The economy shapes our everyday lives – our income, mortgage or rent, our spending habits, our retirement savings. How the Economy Actually Works helps readers make sense of the economics we’re hearing about on a daily basis. Understanding basic economics concepts helps us all make better decisions that impact our financial wellness over the long-term, and ease our anxious minds. This is the practical, no-nonsense personal finance book from a real-world economist who answers common questions in a clear, concise (often quite humorous way).

What they didn’t teach you at school you’ll understand after reading this book.
