About The Author

SHAWN SARAGA is the founder of The Franchise Academy and Chief Development Officer at Tahini’s Restaurants. With more than twenty years of experience in franchise development and commercial real estate, he has opened over 1,000 franchise businesses, negotiated over 800 leases across Canada and the United States and participated in several 8-figure exits for premium brands. A published columnist in franchise and real estate publications and a recognized speaker at industry events across North America, Saraga has worked with brands including Burger King, barBURRITO, Freshii, Foodtastic and Tahini’s Restaurants. He previously held senior roles at Cushman & Wakefield and SRS Real Estate Partners. He lives in Toronto.
