About The Author

Barbara Buhler Lynes has written, cowritten, and contributed to over twenty-five publications on O’Keeffe, including O’Keeffe, Stieglitz and the Critics, 1916–1929 and Maria Chabot—Georgia O’Keeffe: Correspondence, 1941–1949 (UNM Press). From 1999 to 2012 she was the founding curator of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and she also served as the founding director of the museum’s research center. From 2014 to 2020 she was the Sunny Kaufman Senior Curator at the Fort Lauderdale Art Museum before leaving to work on O’Keeffe full time. She currently lives in Virginia and is an honorary member of the O’Keeffe Museum’s board of trustees and a consultant to the museum’s digital “Access O’Keeffe” project.
