Diane Roberts is a columnist for the St. Petersburg Times, the Times of London, and a frequent contributor to NPR, The New Republic, The New York Times, and Oxford American, among other publications. She is an English professor at the University of Alabama and the author of Faulkner and Southern Womanhood and The Myth of Aunt Jemima. She divides her time between Tallahassee and Tuscaloosa.
