Duenas Anika

Anika Duenas is a Los Angeles–based illustrator and woman of color whose creative voice is shaped by her roots. Her work draws inspiration from the women who raised her and the community that continues to nurture her. Known for her character-driven illustrations, Anika creates art that fosters connection, celebrates identity, and keeps her communities at the forefront. Her illustrations have appeared in various cultural and heritage-focused projects, and Firulais is her debut children’s book as an illustrator. At the heart of her practice is a simple intention: to help people feel seen.
