Florence Chien is a Canadian political fantasy author. She was born in China and now resides in Toronto. She grew up awestruck by George R. R. Martin's novels and was later influenced by the writings of Guy Gavriel Kay and James Islington. She is bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English. Outside of writing, she is also a commercial real estate lawyer, a connoisseur of coffee, and a fountain pen aficionado.
